AANZCA25 FIRST KEYNOTE SPEAKER CONFIRMED

AANZCA25 is thrilled to announce that Professor Crystal Abidin will be a Keynote Speaker at AANZCA25 at the University of the Sunshine Coast in November 2025.  Professor Abidin is an internationally acclaimed digital anthropologist and ethnographer of influencer cultures, internet celebrity, online visibility, and social media pop cultures. Crystal is Professor of Internet Studies at Curtin University, Director of Influencer Ethnography Research Lab, Founder of TikTok Cultures Research Network, and Associate Investigator at Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child Research. Crystal was an ARC DECRA Fellow (2019-2024) and was awarded Western Australia’s Young Tall Poppy Science Award in 2022. Until 2024, Crystal was Editor-in-Chief of AANZCA/SAGE academic journal Media International Australia.
