Professor Karin Wahl-Jorgensen confirmed as keynote speaker

 

The AANZCA25 Local Organising Committee is delighted to announce that PROFESSOR KARIN WAHL-JORGENSEN will be a keynote speaker at AANZCA25 at the University of the Sunshine Coast (26 to 28 November 2025). Professor Wahl-Jorgensen is Professor in the School of Journalism, Media and Culture and University Dean of Research Environment and Culture at Cardiff University. She holds a PhD from Stanford University, USA, and an honorary doctorate from Roskilde University, Denmark. Her research focuses on journalism, citizenship and emotion, and she has authored or edited twelve books, and over 130 journal articles and book chapters. Recent books range from Covering Covid-19: The Coronavirus Pandemic as a Critical Moment for Digital Journalism and The Coronavirus pandemic and the transformation of (digital) journalism (both out in 2025, Routledge, with Thorsten Quandt), to Emotions, Media and Politics (2019, Polity). She is a Fellow of the International Communication Association (ICA) and the Learned Society of Wales, where she is an elected member of Council. Karin is also co-editor of the ICA Handbook Series (with Thomas Hanitzsch) and has been selected as Presidential Candidate for ICA in 2025.
